St. Mark's gospel starts with the phrase "the gospel of Jesus Christ, son of God." Even in this phrase, St. Mark starts to emphasize that Christ is worthy of heeding, believing, and following. He spends the next fifteen verses showing that Christ's Gospel is the good news - the news worthy of being internally applied.
