The light by which we see

St. John's gospel account contains some incredible imagery of light, darkness, blindness, and sight. Today, we read about how Jesus healed a man born blind. Initially, it seems as though this is simply a case of a man's sight being renewed. However, as we read more deeply, we realize that not only was the man's sight restored, he gained spiritual sight as well.

  1. Fr. Ian listed for impediments to spiritual sight that were drawn out in St. John's chapter 9. What were these four impediments?

  2. Do you see that you struggle with any of these impediments?

  3. As Lent begins in what ways can you pray that Christ might help you see more clearly?
