In this sermon on Hebrews 10:11-18 we see how this passage acts as a pivot between the previous chapter and a half and the next few chapters. The author turns his focus from Christ as the better sacrifice and starts to show us what life in Christ looks like.
Today, we specifically saw that we can have confidence in Christ because he reigns and will return. A part of the promise to sustain us is the reality that he has sent his spirit to lead us. A significant part of this leading is that he has given us his law on our hearts and in our minds. This allows us to abide richly in him.
This is ultimately what it means to be free in Christ. We are no longer bound to our sin, but have free access to the father, are empowered by the Holy Spirit to walk richly with Christ.
Reflection questions:
What are some ways that you find hope in the eternal reign of Christ?
According to the sermon, what does new life in Christ look like?
What does freedom in Christ mean?
