The hands of a living God

We often grossly underestimate God's Holiness and wildly overestimate our goodness. This leads us to be shocked by passages such as Hebrews 10:26-31. A passage that reminds us of the depth of destruction caused by sin and the coming judgment. Not only does this give us pause, but it reminds us to cling to Christ all the more heartily.
This passage is also incredibly hope-filled. He has given us the Holy Spirit to be our guide, to sanctify us, to convict us of sin, and to ultimately draw us deeper into fellowship with God. Furthermore, God's judgment isn't arbitrary, but it is perfectly just. It is ultimately when the world passes through judgment that all will be made right.
Think about a time when something far exceeded your expectations. What do you expect about God's Holiness? How do your previous experiences with your expectations influence how you look forward to experiencing God's Holiness?
What idols and sins are you holding in your heart?
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of a living God. How does this reality change how you'll pray for those who have hurt you, hate you, or are otherwise against you?
Such a good sermon. So very relevant for me. I confess I was going to say relevant for this world BUT there it is...that judgemental sin popping up out of nowhere.
I fund the phrase ' there but for the Frace of God go I ' is almost a constant prayer as I go along.
Thank you.
