As we finished Habakkuk, we were reminded of God's sovereignty over the whole world. This reality can be hard to remember when things seem unstable and chaotic. However, when by the grace of God, he trains our minds to remember his goodness and sovereignty - it changes our entire perspective.
Habakkuk showed us what this looks like in his discourse and praise of the Lord. Instead of growing despondent after seeing what the Lord would do - Habakkuk remembers all that the Lord has done and trusts that his promises will come true.
Once we are reminded of everything God has done, we know exactly what he can do. It gives us confidence during turmoil to praise him. By reminding ourselves of God's former faithfulness, we learn obedience and praise Jesus in and out of season.
Reflection Questions:
This week, take time daily to list things you are thankful for.
Make a note of how this affects your relationship with God.
What would it mean for you to rejoice in God in season and out of season?
