I will give you a new heart


This past Sunday, we worked our way through Mark 6:53-7:23. In this section, the conflict between Jesus and the Pharisees becomes more elevated. The charge Jesus makes against the Pharisees is that they have created unbearable rules, further separating the people from God and preventing them from being able to love even their parents.

  1. Are you adding anything to the commandments of God?

  2. Jesus outlined several things that make one unclean. Where do you struggle? What steps are you taking to have deeper fidelity to Christ?

  3. Do you believe that there is more mercy in Christ than sin in you? If not, what do you need to hear in order to believe it?
