Dear Saints,
Let us give thanks to the Lord who is ruler over all, including the weather for the rain we received yesterday. While we certainly need more, this was an answer to prayer. Now we can enjoy another beautiful Arizona day. Please continue to pray for rain.
National Day of Prayer
Today is the national day of prayer. All Saints will be joining other churches from the quad-city region at the courthouse square to pray for our nation, our churches, and our communities. If you can, please join us at 6 pm at the courthouse or meet us at the church to carpool in. The meeting is scheduled to go from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, so if you don't feel as though you can stand that whole time, you may wish to bring a folding chair. I have never been to one of these, so I'm not entirely sure what to expect.
Ladies' Guild
The Ladies' Guild monthly meeting is tomorrow at 11 am at the church. The men's fellowship will meet at the same time. Both groups will enjoy lunch, and the ladies will be talking about their next project.
Opportunities for Christian Education
We continue to meet at 9 am on Sunday mornings to study the 39 Articles of Religion. If you missed to first couple meetings, don't be shy, we have not gotten very far into them, and you won't feel behind!
On Wednesday evenings we are also meeting after Evensong at 6pm and discussing what it looks like to be the church.
Vestry meeting
We will have our monthly vestry meeting a week early to accommodate for Mother's Day the following week.
Ascension Day service
Ascension Day is Thursday, May 10th when the church remembers Christ's ascension into heaven where he sits at the right hand of the Father until his coming again. We will have Holy Communion at 6 pm; please try to attend if you are able.
If these times for feast days don't work, please let me know if there is a better time.
Bible Study
We have a Men's Bible Study and a Women's Bible study. Each group meets on the second Saturday of the month. Currently, both groups are going through the essential 100 passages. This study has been giving us an excellent overview of the metanarrative of scripture. Additionally, it builds a time of prayerful fellowship and a building up of the body in our Biblical knowledge.
Our next gathering is May 12 at 9 am. Please try to attend if you are able.
Please continue in prayer for all those who are ill among us. We were hit pretty hard this past spring with various illnesses and injuries, but it would seem the Lord has smiled upon us and is bringing healing to many of the sick among us.
I pray all who are reading this are well; I look forward to seeing you Sunday.
Blessings,
Fr. Ian Emile Dunn
